For my dry areas such as knees, feet and elbows which are prone to dry skin, I'm using vaseline. This product is excellent when you have really dry skinWith just a small pea sized amount on each elbow I'm good to go.
My favorite body lotion/butter is Fruttini, it has such an amazing scent and it leaves my skin super soft! :) And I love body butter from Lush.

If I am going out for a night on the town, a bit of shimmer lotion gives me a nice even skin tone and a golden-glow effecton on my arms, chest or legs  :)

TipKANTARION OIL is a natural medic for many types of problems and it's great for your skin too. Put some drops in your daily lotion and  it will give your skin a healthy glow.
It is amazing if you have scars. It transform the skin and help it repair and get back into shape.

And I also like to use Dove Energy Glow lotion and Nivea.
Well, that is it for now. Perhaps I will come back and add to this post in the future. I also use body oil's that you can see here.

Healthy skin Part I-Body

Valentine's day is knocking on the doors.
For me, all year round and especially that day most important thing is my skin.

I am also thinking what to wear and stuff like that but my skin comes first.

It's like my best accessoire.

So today I will talk about exfoliating your body during these long and dry winter months.

I didn't have any problems with my skin. But I think knowing your skin is most important.
If something works for me it doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to work for you as well.

Your skin type depends on your geneticsyour lifestyle choices, your diet (healthy eating vs. fast food junkie) , your habits...etc. In the winter time, when it's so freezing outside, you have to take care of your skin. For me, the key is in exfoliation and moisturizing.
Dead skin is the enemy to healthy skin. It clogs our pores, combines with dirt cause pimples, breakouts or even worse  acne.
It forms in layers blocking any healthy moisturizers, make skin feel rough and  it gives our skin a dull look. It’s something we can not ignore, because it will only get worse.  Exfoliation is a necessity. Our skin has three main layers: epidermis (top), dermis (middle) and hypodermis/subcutaneos layer (bottom).

You need to exfoliate just a first layer of skin.
You might not be aware of it, but your body produces new skin cells nonstop around the clock. Exfoliating your entire body can help prevent body acne in many places below your neck, such as the chest, back and arms. And it can help even out skin tone and keep your skin hydrated and soft.

Exfolliate only one or maybe twice a week because you need to give it time to grow new skin cells. If your skin is very sensitive, you might prefer to do it even less. Keep in mind that the purpose of exfoliating is to remove skin cells that are dead.
Most health experts agree that regular exfoliating is extremely drying to the skin and will do more harm than good. Never overexfoliate with excessively abrasive exfoliating cleansers, or you run the risk of bursting the delicate blood vessels under the skin.

If you've run out of body scrub you can make your own.
Mix sugar/sea salt, olive oil/baby oil and maybe lemon juice together. The combinations are endless.

My favourite is sugar scrub.

What you need:
  1. jar
  2. 1 spoon for mixing
  3. sugar (I use brown sugar)
  4. oil (baby oil, olive oil, etc.)

Instructions:

You want 1/3 of oil and 2/3 of sugar. Pour sugar into the jar. Fill it with oil just until the oil passes the top of the sugar. Mix oil (I am using baby oil) with sugar to form a thick paste.
If you want your scrub to smell even better put some drops of an essential oil (lavander, lemon, rosemary, vanila, etc.).

Et voila:

Instructions for using body scrub:

  1. Get into your bath or shower and wet your entire body.
  2. Than apply exfoliating cleanser to your exfoliating brush or gloves, or just use your hands.
  3. Scrub your body with it, using gentle, circular motions. The grainy texture exfoliates the skin. You shouldn't have to scrub too hard or too often to make that happen. If you do, you're likely to take off healthy cells, which might leave your skin looking red or feeling sore. Rub rough spots, such as heels.
At the moment I am using:  BaylisandHarding

Yet the brand I always come back to is the ever-affordable drugstore brand Nivea.

After that you need to apply moisturizing body lotion all over.
By moisturizing regularly, you help stabilise your body's moisture barrier, which prevents skin from drying out. Pay attention to your dry areas such as your knees, feet and elbows which are prone to dry skin. Exfoliation is drying to the skin, so you must keep your skin hydrated.
I am using now: Fruttini body butter
                                            Balea Bodylotion

My Tips for healthy skin:
  • Be very aware of what is in skincare products. Use products that are all natural as much as possible.
  • Drink plenty of water! Water hydrates skin and hair as well as flushes toxins out of the body. You can drink even tea.  Green tea has been used as a detoxifying tonic.
  • Limit stress or learn to manage it effectively. Stress is harmful both emotionally and physically.
  • Eating healthy is important.  All skin care products in the world won't achieve healthy skin without help from your eating habits.
  • Do not overexfoliate.
  • KANTARION OIL is a natural medic for many types of problems and it's great for your skin too. You need very small amount of this oil. Put some drops in your daily lotion and  it will give you a healthy glow.

DO NOT EVER use any kind of body scrub on your face or anything that abrasive.
P.S. I'm certainly not an expertthis is just my opinion :)
Hope my english is ok.
